| Microsoft owns a large number of
copyrights of IT training curriculum. Accordingly,
in partnership with educators domestic and overseas,
Microsoft has been sparing no effort in developing
locally tailored IT curriculums on ChinaĦŻs national
standards and needs of local schools and teachers. |

| On demand of practical needs of
ChinaĦŻs current teachers training, this project
orients its work at IT teachers of secondary schools.
There are two modes of training, DVD training (basic
training) and In-class training (intermediate/advanced
training). Cooperating with the online technical
support platform, we have provided a continuous
study environment. |

| According to the framework signed
by Microsoft and the Ministry of Education, and
with the guidance of MOE, Microsoft will equip 100
secondary schools each one IT classroom within two
years. In addition, Microsoft will rely on this
platform to develop distance learning technologies,
products and solutions, and improve teaching quality
of rural areas. |

On Jul. 1, 2004, in the launching ceremony
of 100 IT Classrooms Program of PiL Initiative by MOE-Microsoft
(China), Board Chairman of Microsoft, Mr. Bill Gates,
had a dialogue with some middle school students from the
first 5 IT classrooms established in various places of
china .
